Job summary

NORTHSTAR is seeking a Staff Physical Therapy Assistant to assist the Staff Therapist with patient care and treatment activities. You will treat patients under the PT plan, record notes, and participate in care conferences to support optimal outcomes.

The role requires licensing as a Staff Physical Therapy Assistant and proficiency with Casamba and Point Click Care, with strong communication to families and the health team. This is a full-time position in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Staff Physical Therapy Assistant in the state.
• Proficient with Casamba and Point Click Care.
• Reading and interpreting technical procedures.
• Reading and comprehending policy and procedure manuals.
• Able to present information to managers, coworkers and families.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients as directed by Physical Therapist.
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board.
• Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area.
• Treat patients per the physician treatment plan.
• Instruct families or nursing staff in maintenance and caregiver training for discharge from therapy services.
• Report problems with department equipment.
• Relate positively with patients, families, staff and colleagues.
• Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems and plans.
