Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you are a vital part of the rehabilitation team, working under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients regain movement, reduce pain, and restore function after injury, illness, or surgery. Key responsibilities include:

• Implement patient care plans developed by the physical therapist to meet rehabilitation goals.
• Lead patients through prescribed exercises and activities, instruct on proper techniques, monitor progress, and provide feedback.
• Apply treatment modalities correctly, monitor responses, and adjust as needed.
• Educate patients and families on injury prevention, body mechanics, and pain management.
• Monitor and document patient progress, communicate updates to the supervising therapist, and collaborate on treatment adjustments.
