Job summary

Specialty Rx, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Pharmacist in Nebraska to ensure adherence to pharmacy procedures and SOPs, and to supply medications safely to client facilities under supervision.

Responsibilities include evaluating orders, maintaining accurate dispensing, and communicating with physicians and nursing staff. The role requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with long-term care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Nebraska.
• Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Hospital and Retail pharmacy experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration.
• Maintain dispensed medications are correctly supplied and labeled.
• Make recommendations for therapy changes to physician and facilities staff.
• Maintain customers’ databases including medical history and laboratory data.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
• Communicate with nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare team members.
• Supervise the preparation of medicines.
• Maintain a register of controlled drugs for stock control.
• Maintain proper security conditions for medications.
• Perform on-call duties when required.

Position Summary

The Licensed Pharmacist will ensure the adherence of pharmacy procedures and SOPs. In accordance with company laws, state and federal regulations. The Licensed Pharmacist will ensure regulations are correct and the safe supply of medical products to the client facilities, under the general supervision of the VP of Ops & Pharmacist In Charge.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration.
• Maintain dispense medications are correctly supplied and labeled.
• Make recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and client facilities staff, if necessary.
• Maintain customers’ databases including but not limited to medical history, clinical, laboratory data, etc.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
• Communicate with facilities’ nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare team members regarding medication-related queries.
• Supervise the preparation of any medicines.
• Maintain a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes.
• Maintain proper security conditions for medications.
• Perform “on-call” duties when required.

Education, Knowledge, and Skills:

• Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Nebraska.
• Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Previous experience in Hospital and Retail pharmacy or other medical fields.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Computer skills.
• Framework / ECM software knowledge a plus.
• Ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, walk, bend, and crouch frequently.
• Ability to occasionally perform light lifting (up to 20 pounds) and repetitious physical activity.
• Repetitive computer and phone use.
• Work is performed in a pharmacy and office environment.
