Job summary

SpecialtyRx, Inc. is seeking a licensed Pharmacist in Texas to join our Grand Prairie team. This role supports long-term care facilities, hospitals, and retail settings, ensuring safe, effective medication use and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include evaluating orders, dispensing medications, communicating with physicians and nursing staff, maintaining patient records, and ensuring drug security. LTC experience preferred; strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist in Texas required
• Long term care experience preferred
• Experience in hospital and retail pharmacy or related medical fields is beneficial
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Framework / ECM software knowledge a plus
• Creating a safe, effective environment

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions and proper administration
• Maintain dispense medications are correctly supplied and labeled
• Make recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and client facilities staff, if necessary
• Maintain customers' databases including medical history, clinical data, laboratory data, etc
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries
• Communicate with facilities' nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare team members regarding medication-related queries
• Supervise the preparation of medicines
• Maintain a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes
• Maintain proper security conditions for medications
• Perform on-call duties when required
