GENERAL FUNCTION

The Licensed Optician creates exceptional value in the lives of customers by delivering Signature Customer Experiences. Ensures customers are always delighted by performing the key steps of our selling model. Develops the optical skills of others and creates an effective learning environment.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Conveys a commitment to providing unsurpassed Customer Service by performing the following Sales and Service Process steps:

  3. Ability to support problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  4. Engage patients, customers, and fellow associates with the use of our technology to support experiences.
  5. Deliver the Diamond Service Principles and Service Vision.
  6. Celebrate the LensCrafters Advantages and be a leader in the location that sets the tone for customer service.
  7. Anticipate problems before they occur; explore underlying reasons for recurring customer problems; go beyond symptoms to get at causes; strive to develop long-term solutions to problems.
  8. Assist the customer in selecting frames and lenses that are best suited for their lifestyle, Rx, and price needs. Suggest improvements and recommend solutions to problems.
  9. Show patience and courtesy with customers; track down answers to unfamiliar questions or products.
  10. Assist co-workers who have questions or problems; cooperate readily in group efforts.
  11. Act as a leader in optical acumen that provides a voice for associates due to their expertise.
  12. Educate the customer on LensCrafter’s guarantees and services including: eyewear care tips, complimentary adjustments, follow-up services, protection plans, and warranties.
  13. Handle tasks such as taking and recording measurements, adjusting or fitting eyewear carefully and correctly, and being thorough and exact in details.
  14. Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements/requests.
  15. Celebrate the LC Advantages at dispense.
  16. Strive to achieve “Exceptional Results” on LensCrafters’ annual CEI/Functional Skills that align with brand priorities.
  17. Operate the Point of Sale terminal inputting customer and prescription information with accuracy and attention to detail.
  18. Accurately operate the Point of Sale, when required, collecting proper payment following company security procedures and retaining proper change for a variety of transactions such as credit cards, discounts, insurance, and coupons.
  19. Proficient in Order tracker to support customers getting orders RWP (ready when promised).
  20. Take pride in the appearance of the store and ensure visual displays are in accordance with Company provided planograms.
  21. Ensure a positive and productive Store Manager/Macys Host relationship that contributes to growing the business and customer satisfaction.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. State licensure or certification by a nationally-recognized opticianary association as an optician.
  3. Optical dispensing experience.
  4. Knowledge of current optical theory and merchandise.
  5. Knowledge of current store merchandise assortment and use of Inventory management systems.
  6. Strong communicator and listener.
  7. Awareness of current fashion trends.
  8. Sales skills – ability to use and carry an IPAD / tablet.
  9. Comfortable with the use of technology to engage patients, customers, and associates.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Actively studying LensCrafters Quality, Fitting, and Adjusting Program.
  2. Previous customer service and retail experience.

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements.
