Job summary

The Eye Institute of West Florida in Tampa, FL is seeking a Licensed Optician to join our Hyde Park office, with travel to Largo, St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Tampa Westchase as needed. This role focuses on dispensing eyeglasses and assisting patients, while supporting the doctors and staff.

You must hold a Florida LDO license along with ABO and NCLE certifications. We offer full benefits, 401k, PTO, and competitive pay, with benefits including vision, dental, life insurance and maternity

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Florida Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO) is required.
• Current ABO and NCLE certifications required.
• Basic computer skills and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote frames and lenses recommended by the doctor to meet patient needs.
• Adjust and repair glasses as needed.
• Verify medical and vision insurances.
• Dispense glasses (and contact lens orders) and ensure accurate measurements.
• Communicate with patients, doctors and managers effectively.
