About the role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to start a new career journey as a MyEyeDr. Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO). You will analyze prescriptions to recommend high-quality vision care, fit, measure, and adjust eyeglasses, and provide oversight on all prescriptions within the office.

You Will

  • Provide exceptional customer service by understanding and addressing patient needs
  • Assist patients in selecting eyewear, using extensive product knowledge to educate them
  • Analyze and assess patients' vision problems through conversation
  • Oversee prescriptions throughout the office
  • Maximize sales using the company's sales concepts, focusing on promotions, product choices, coatings, warranties, and backup eyewear
  • Explain insurance benefits comprehensively to patients and maximize insurance plans
  • Understand cost of goods and retail pricing to assist cost-conscious patients
  • Focus on key patient indicators
  • Educate patients on new prescriptions and lens care
  • Use technical aids like pupillometer and PD ruler for proper fitting
  • Ensure timely delivery and inform patients of delays
  • Understand and utilize promotions, coupons, and third-party programs
  • Conduct follow-up calls to recent eyewear recipients
  • Verify eyewear with lensometer and inspect for quality
  • Notify patients when glasses are ready and assist with fitting and adjustments
  • Ensure accurate pricing and monitor pending jobs
  • Maintain cleanliness and merchandise displays daily
  • Handle returns properly and perform preliminary patient testing as needed
  • Process payments accurately and maintain the office’s appearance
  • Attend meetings and training sessions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

About You

  • Must be a State Board Certified Licensed Dispensing Optician
  • AA or BA/BS in a related field is desirable
  • 2-5 years of related eyewear experience
  • Proven success in retail or office environments addressing diverse customer needs
  • Comfort with optical and lens-related issues
  • Ability to manage multiple prescriptions daily
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build patient relationships
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with industry-standard equipment and systems
