Role Overview

The Licensed Optician upholds our brand values and helps position LensCrafters as the premier destination for all vision needs. They create value by delivering legendary customer service and crafting high-quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Welcome customers and set expectations.
2. Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
3. Lead in optical expertise.
4. Take and record measurements; adjust and fit eyewear with attention to detail; ensure standards and customer needs are met.
5. Assist with complex product needs and prescriptions.
6. Utilize technology accurately and efficiently under time pressure; possess strong product knowledge and use appropriate tools.
7. Proactively identify root causes of issues, think forward, ensure customer satisfaction, and exceed expectations.
8. Manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and handle competing priorities effectively.
9. Strive to meet store KPIs and competency goals.
10. Maintain store appearance, keeping it clean, attractive, and organized.
11. Report safety concerns and practice safe work habits.
12. Be resourceful, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
13. Follow company policies regarding discounts, promotions, and inventory management.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• State Licensure.
• Experience in optical dispensing.
• Strong customer service, communication, listening, and team-building skills.
• Knowledge of current store merchandise and fashion trends.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet and familiarity with POS systems and calculators.
• Open to embracing new technology and change.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service and retail experience.
