Job Description

What Would You Do? The Specifics?

1. Optimize and oversee the lab to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies and guidelines.
2. Identify areas for improvement and develop action plans. Provide excellent customer service by respecting customers, being prompt and courteous, and understanding their needs.
3. Execute same-day service using the “Ready When Promised” production board.
4. Perform machine maintenance to keep lab equipment clean and functional, addressing malfunctions immediately, and informing the General Manager and retail staff of delays.
5. Ensure safety rules are followed, including all Lab Technicians wearing protective eyewear at all times.
6. Control inventory shrinkage by monitoring and recording breakage and maintaining accurate inventories of lenses and lab supplies.
7. Supervise and motivate Lab Technicians, ensuring timely completion of daily tasks.
8. Assist the General Manager with recruiting, selecting, and retaining qualified lab staff.
9. Delegate work appropriately to maximize organizational goals and support staff development.
10. Manage lab associate scheduling in line with payroll guidelines and skill levels.
11. Ensure all lab associates are trained on equipment and continue developing their skills, coordinating with Training and Employee Relations departments.
12. Conduct annual performance reviews and ongoing coaching for all associates.

Qualifications

• Maintain required state license.
• ABO & NCLE Certification.
