General Function

Provide exceptional patient experiences through eyewear selection, accurate measurements, ordering, and fitting to meet all eyewear needs. Support the practice in becoming the community's top destination for vision care.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Custom fit glasses and accurately place prescriptions in lenses.
  2. Lead in optical knowledge, serving as a voice for peers.
  3. Take and record measurements, adjust eyewear, ensure standards and patient requirements are met.
  4. Explore patient needs through open-ended questions.
  5. Assist peers with complex product needs and prescriptions.
  6. Identify and resolve problems proactively, ensuring patient satisfaction and exceeding expectations.
  7. Manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  8. Operate the point-of-sale system accurately.
  9. Ensure timely delivery, seek feedback, and encourage referrals.
  10. Take ownership of individual and team goals to achieve outstanding results.
  11. Educate and celebrate at the point of dispense.
  12. Maintain a clean, organized dispensary and protect company assets.
  13. Collaborate daily with doctors and staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
  14. Report safety issues and follow safe work practices.
  15. Maintain a positive attitude, drive results, and pursue continuous learning.
  16. Follow company policies, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
  17. Work weekends and evenings as needed.
  18. Adhere to attendance and timekeeping policies.
  19. Build positive working relationships with the practice and communicate concerns promptly.
  20. Maintain proper dress code consistently.
  21. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Active state optical license (must be maintained).
  3. Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.
  4. Basic math proficiency.
  5. Sales skills.
  6. Openness to new technology and change.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with POS systems, patient record systems, and other software applications.
