General Function

Provide exceptional patient experiences through eyewear selection, accurate measurements, and fittings to meet all eyewear needs. Support establishing the practice as the premier vision care destination in the community.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
  2. Lead in optical expertise, serving as a voice for peers.
  3. Take and record measurements, adjust or fit eyewear accurately, and ensure standards and patient needs are met.
  4. Explore patient needs and priorities through open-ended questions.
  5. Assist peers with complex product needs and prescriptions.
  6. Anticipate and resolve problems, develop long-term solutions, and ensure patient satisfaction.
  7. Manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  8. Operate the point-of-sale system with accuracy.
  9. Commit to delivery timelines, seek feedback, and ask for referrals.
  10. Take ownership of individual and team results.
  11. Present, educate, and celebrate at the point of dispense.
  12. Maintain an organized, attractive dispensary and protect company assets.
  13. Collaborate with doctors and staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
  14. Report safety concerns and practice safe work habits.
  15. Maintain a positive attitude, drive results, and pursue continual learning.
  16. Follow company policies on discounts, promotions, and inventory.
  17. Work weekends and evenings as needed.
  18. Adhere to attendance and timekeeping policies.
  19. Build positive relationships with the practice and communicate concerns promptly.
  20. Dress appropriately and perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Active state optical license and ongoing license maintenance.
  3. Strong customer service, communication, listening, and teamwork skills.
  4. Basic math proficiency.
  5. Sales aptitude.
  6. Openness to new technology and change.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, patient record systems, and software applications.
