Role Overview

The Licensed Optician helps establish LensCrafters as the premier destination for vision needs by delivering exceptional customer service and high-quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Welcome customers and set expectations
2. Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses
3. Act as a leader in optical knowledge
4. Take and record measurements, adjust/fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensure standards and customer needs are met
5. Assist with complex product needs and prescriptions
6. Use technology accurately under time pressure, demonstrate product knowledge, and utilize appropriate tools
7. Explore root causes of issues, be proactive, and ensure customer satisfaction
8. Manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
9. Achieve results on Brand KPIs and competencies
10. Maintain store appearance, keep it clean and organized
11. Report safety concerns and practice safe work habits
12. Be resourceful, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning and improvement
13. Adhere to company policies regarding discounts, promotions, and inventory

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• State Licensure
• Optical dispensing experience
• Strong customer service skills: communication, listening, teamwork
• Knowledge of current store merchandise
• Basic math skills
• Awareness of fashion trends
• Ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet for sales
• Familiarity with POS systems, computers, and calculators
• Openness to new technology and change

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service and retail experience
