Role Overview

The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish LensCrafters as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. Creates exceptional value in customers' lives by delivering legendary customer service and perfectly crafted high-quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Welcome all customers and set expectations.
  2. Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
  3. Act as a leader in optical knowledge.
  4. Take and record measurements; accurately adjust/fit eyewear, ensuring standards and customer needs are met.
  5. Assist with complex product needs and prescriptions.
  6. Use technology accurately and thoroughly, even under time pressure; maintain exceptional product knowledge.
  7. Be proactive, explore root causes of issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  8. Multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  9. Strive to achieve results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
  10. Maintain store appearance, keeping it clean and organized.
  11. Report safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
  12. Be resourceful, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
  13. Adhere to company policies, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • State Licensure
  • Optical dispensing experience
  • Strong customer service skills: communication, listening, and team building
  • Knowledge of current store merchandise
  • Basic math skills
  • Awareness of current fashion trends
  • Selling skills; ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet
  • Familiarity with POS systems, computers, and calculators
  • Willingness to embrace new technology and change
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous customer service and retail experience
