We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Licensed Optician to join our friendly, professional team.

Position Summary:

As a Licensed Optician at Belchertown Eye Care, you will play a key role in helping patients select the right eyewear, ensuring proper fit, and educating them on lens options and care. You’ll work closely with both patients and a Master Optician to provide exceptional service and maintain high standards of optical accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with frame selection, lens options, and proper fit based on prescription and lifestyle
• Accurately measure, fit, and dispense eyewear and contact lenses
• Interpret and verify optical prescriptions
• Perform adjustments and minor repairs on eyewear
• Maintain inventory and place orders for frames, lenses, and optical supplies
• Ensure compliance with optical health regulations and HIPAA guidelines
• Educate patients on lens care, frame maintenance, and proper eyewear usage
• Collaborate with an Opticianand office staff to support overall patient care
• Deliver outstanding customer service in a welcoming, professional environment
  
  

Qualifications:

• Current Massachusetts license as a Dispensing Optician required
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a licensed optician preferred
• Strong knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, coatings, and frame materials
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer experienceskills
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
• Proficiency with optical software systems (e.g., EHR, lens ordering platforms) is a plus
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends, if required
