Role Summary

The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish LensCrafters as the premier destination for all vision needs. Creates exceptional value in customers’ lives through legendary customer service and high-quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Welcome all customers and set expectations.
2. Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
3. Act as a leader in optical knowledge.
4. Take and record measurements; adjust and fit eyewear with attention to detail.
5. Assist with complex product needs and prescriptions.
6. Use technology accurately and thoroughly, even under time pressure.
7. Explore root causes of issues, ensure customer satisfaction, and exceed expectations.
8. Manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
9. Achieve results on brand KPIs and competencies.
10. Maintain store appearance, keep it clean and organized.
11. Report safety concerns and demonstrate safe work practices.
12. Be resourceful, self-motivated, and committed to learning and improvement.
13. Adhere to company policies, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.

Qualifications

Basic

• High School diploma or equivalent
• State Licensure
• Optical dispensing experience
• Strong customer service skills
• Knowledge of current store merchandise
• Basic math skills
• Awareness of fashion trends
• Selling skills and comfort with technology (iPad/tablet)
• Familiarity with POS systems and computers
• Willingness to embrace new technology and change

Preferred

• Previous customer service and retail experience
