Job summary

Waters of Wakarusa is seeking a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator to lead the facility’s operations, ensuring quality resident care and regulatory compliance while achieving business objectives. The role requires a four-year degree and an active state license, with prior long-term care management experience.

You will oversee budgeting, staffing, and marketing efforts, collaborate with regulators and families, and guide staff through mandatory trainings.

Qualifications

• Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• Must be a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
• Maintains a current, valid Indiana State Nursing Home Administrator’s License.
• Minimum two years applicable management or comparable experience in a long term care setting.
• Strong knowledge regarding state, federal and local regulations as they pertain to long term care.
• Successfully completes facility conducted orientation, mandatory training and in-service programs.
• Meets health assessment requirements, including two stage Mantoux skin test.
• Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.

Responsibilities

• Direct the overall operation of the facility’s delivery of care in accordance with regulations and policy.
• Attend mandatory in-services by employee’s anniversary date.
• Communicate and observes the Corporate Compliance Program effectively and comply with Code of Conduct.
• Plan all aspects of facility operations with management staff; monitor departments and policies.
• Conduct regular rounds to ensure resident needs are addressed and morale is high.
• Ensure appropriate use of consultants and maintain inter-departmental teamwork.
• Maintain compliance with governmental regulations and company QA standards; monitor employee relations and morale.
• Manage turnover and staffing through recruitment, orientation, training, and staff education.
• Manage facility budgets and business practices including labor costs and accounts.
• Develop and implement a marketing strategy to maximize census, payor mix, and ancillary revenues.
• Build positive relationships with regulators, families, and the local health care community.
• Lead staff education activities and meetings; be on-call 24/7.
• Ensure knowledge and instruction on state rules and regulations to staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
