Job summary

A Day in the Life of a Licensed Nursing Assistant

Under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed therapist, this role assists in implementing the client's care plan. Responsibilities include:

  • Receiving and executing daily patient assignments.
  • Collecting patient and family data and reporting findings to RN or licensed therapist.
  • Performing interventions and procedures to ensure safe, effective, quality care.
  • Performing patient care tasks such as activities of daily living, vital signs collection, ambulation/exercises, etc.
  • Communicating clinical information effectively, both verbally and in writing, to patients, their families, and home care staff.
  • Serving as a Personal Care Attendant as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; successful completion of an accredited LNA program required.
  • Valid Vermont LNA license required.
  • Prior home care or hospice experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle, and auto insurance required; ability to pass background checks and show proof of auto insurance at employment.
