About BioLife Plasma Services

Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high-quality plasma you collect will become life-changing medicines. Here, a commitment to customer service and quality is expected. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

BioLife Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.

About the role

You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician, familiar with plasma collection regulations, and supports environmental, health, and safety (EHS) at the center.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assessing donor eligibility and managing informed consent, medical history, physical exams, and lab tests.
  • Evaluating donor reactions and managing medical emergencies following SOPs.
  • Referring complex issues to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs.
  • Supporting vaccination programs and managing employee incidents.
  • Supporting pandemic-related investigations as authorized.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate of a recognized nursing program.
  • Licensed or certified as LPN or LVN in the state of responsibilities.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • State requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • At least two years of clinical or hospital experience.
