San Antonio Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking a Certified Recreational Therapist to join our full-time team. The role focuses on evaluating patients, planning structured activities, and delivering diverse therapy programs within a supportive hospital setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy, is certified as a Registered Recreational Therapist, and has at least one year of experience, preferably in behavioral health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy and certification as a Registered Recreational Therapist.
• Minimum 1 year experience.
• Experience in a Behavioral Health setting preferred.
• Must be able to communicate relevant clinical details in writing as well as orally.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of patients in terms of leisure and recreational pursuits.
• Planned program of activities for patients requiring a structured recreational therapy intervention.
• Develops, conducts and evaluates a diversified program of activities for individual patients.
• Organizes records, maintains, and orders equipment and supplies.
• Provides care to patients with safety, comfort and therapeutic environment in mind.
• Demonstrates commitment to service, hospital values and professionalism.
• Maintains confidentiality and protects sensitive data.
• Works collaboratively and supports team members.
• Demonstrates exceptional customer service and interacts with physicians, patients, visitors, staff and health care community.
