Job summary

Helio Health, Inc. seeks experienced Licensed Mental Health / SUD Counselors for a full-time role in Syracuse, NY, at our Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center. The counselor will provide urgent response and treatment services to patients in acute crisis and maintain a caseload with diverse behavioral health needs.

Pay ranges from $30.00 to $36.00 per hour, with hours 10am–10:30pm Thursday through Saturday. A sign-on incentive of $3,000 to $8,000 is available based on licensure.

Qualifications

• Active NY licensure as LMSW/LCSW/LMHC/LMFT/LCAT or equivalent licensure.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a licensed mental health and/or substance use counselor.
• Two years’ experience in the Human Services field with mental health/substance use preferred.
• Master's degree required.
• Valid New York State Driver License and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a case load of individuals seeking treatment with a variety of behavioral healthcare needs.
• Perform counseling responsibilities including screening, intake and assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, discharge planning, referrals, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation.
• Exhibit knowledge of biopsychosocial aspects of substance use, addiction, behavioral health, self-help group processes, and counseling principles.
• Provide evidence-based counseling.
• Be a change agent by delivering person-centered, strengths-based, harm-reduction services.
• Maintain case records per state and federal regulations.
• Assist with staff and student intern training as assigned.
• Relate effectively with patients, Helio Health staff and the community while upholding confidentiality.
