How you make a difference

The Licensed Mental Health Professional at Arizona Department of Corrections provides mental health services, including screening, evaluations, and therapeutic interventions, adhering to licensure standards and regulations. They play a critical role in delivering quality mental health care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake evaluations, assessments, and triage; recommend appropriate care levels.

  • Oversee clinical needs, provide consultation, and assist with discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with staff, provide training, document care, and ensure compliance.
  • Participate in peer review, staff training, and supervise staff performance.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Master’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or related field.

Experience: At least 1 year in a mental health treatment program, preferably in correctional or hospital settings.

Licenses/Certifications: Licensed or license-eligible as a Master’s Social Worker or Counselor.
