Job summary

Advanced Correctional Healthcare is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Associate for the Champaign County Juvenile Detention Center in Urbana, IL. You will deliver behavioral health screening, individual/group psychoeducation, and coordinate care with custody and medical staff.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a Behavioral/Social Science field, state licensure (preferred), CPR certification, and ability to work independently. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a Behavioral/Social Science field is required.
• Current licensure with clinical specialty from the appropriate state licensing board is preferred.
• CPR certification must be obtained prior to hire and maintained.
• Hands-on or online certifications are accepted.
• Must be able to practice independently and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform behavioral health screening of detainees referred by facility staff or identified by prescreening.
• Provide individual and/or group psychoeducation and skills-based interventions.
• Assist custody and medical staff in monitoring behavioral health of detainees.
• Coordinate with staff for treatment of detainees with behavioral health concerns.
• Monitor and assess therapeutic support of segregated and isolated detainees.
• Support activities of county behavioral health services in stabilization of at-risk detainees.
• Coordinate with county services for continuity of care and discharge planning.
• Complete documentation and maintain records for referral tracking and CQI under supervision.
• Demonstrate commitment to behavioral health support and provide training to solve problems.

Education

Master’s Degree in a Behavioral/Social Science field

Current licensure with clinical specialty from the appropriate state licensing board

CPR certification
