Job summary

Advanced Correctional Healthcare is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Specialist for the Peoria, IL area. Under supervision, you will screen detainees, provide psychoeducation and skills-based interventions, and collaborate with custody and medical staff on treatment plans.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a Behavioral/Social Science field, CPR certification, and the ability to practice independently. A valid driver’s license is also required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in Behavioral/Social Science field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work).
• Current licensure with clinical specialty preferred.
• CPR certification must be obtained prior to hire and maintained.
• Hands-on or online certifications accepted.
• Must be able to practice independently.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Screen detainees for behavioral health under supervision.
• Provide individual and/or group psychoeducation and skills-based interventions.
• Assist custody and medical staff in monitoring behavioral health.
• Coordinate with custody and medical staff for management and treatment of detainees with behavioral health concerns.
• Monitor and assess therapeutic support of segregated detainees.
• Coordinate with county behavioral health services for continuity of care and discharge planning.
• Complete documentation and maintain records for referral tracking and CQI under supervision.
• Provide behavioral health support and training to solve problems.
