Job summary

Focus and Balance Counseling Center in Henderson, Nevada is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for a mostly remote, full-time role. The counselor will assess clients, develop tailored therapy plans, and guide recovery with evidence-based interventions, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant field and current state licensure (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW), with at least four years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid state licensure (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW) to practice independently.
• At least four years of relevant clinical experience with diverse patient populations.
• Knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build therapeutic rapport.

Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments with new clients to understand their mental health status and unique challenges they face.
• Develop individualized therapy plans that integrate best practices and evidence-based interventions tailored to each client's needs.
• Facilitate regular therapy sessions, offering clients tools and strategies to manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life.

• Provide referrals to other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, when medication management or additional support is necessary.
• Document sessions and client interactions meticulously using our electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Engage in team meetings and multidisciplinary collaboration to discuss patient care strategies and share best practices.
• Stay updated on the latest mental health research, therapeutic techniques, and regulatory changes affecting the practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a counselor at Focus and Balance, you will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals facing substance abuse issues, anxiety disorders, depression, and eating disorders. This broad spectrum of patient needs calls for both professional expertise and cultural competence, allowing you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of various individuals from different backgrounds.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid state licensure (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW) to practice independently.
• At least four years of relevant clinical experience with a demonstrated ability to manage diverse patient populations.
• In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on building therapeutic rapport and trust.
• Proficiency in using EHR systems and other relevant technological applications to facilitate client management.
• A commitment to uphold ethical standards, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy in a variety of settings.
• A background in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
• Familiarity with culturally responsive therapeutic practices.
• Previous experience in contributing to a multidisciplinary team dynamic.

Compensation and Benefits
