Job summary

Parkland Health seeks a licensed mental health counselor to deliver community-based counseling to adults, families, and youths experiencing mental health disorders. A Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling and two years of counseling experience are required.

Licensure as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT is needed, with bilingual skills preferred to serve diverse populations. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, timely documentation, and collaboration with other clinicians to coordinate services

Qualifications

• Must have a Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling.
• Must have two (2) years counseling experience.
• Bilingual skills preferred. Knowledge of maternal and women’s health issues, perinatal mood disorders, and women’s reproductive health considerations are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling to clients and families to relieve emotional distress and clarify goals.
• Collaborate with service providers to address psychological and social needs of clients.
• Maintain thorough written records of counseling sessions and treatment information in a timely manner.
• Identify and analyze counseling design, interventions, referrals, and access processes; adjust approaches for diverse clients and implement changes to improve service effectiveness.
