Job summary

EP!C in Peoria, IL seeks a Mental Health Clinician to join our Behavioral Health Services team. You will provide behavioral health services, including assessment, treatment planning, therapy, community support and case management to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental health needs.

Qualifications

The Mental Health Clinician will work within our growing Behavioral Health Services team. The Mental Health Clinician will participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team, providing service to people who have both intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and mental health needs.

The Mental Health Clinician will work within our growing Behavioral Health Services team. The Mental Health Clinician will participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team, providing service to people who have both intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and mental health needs. The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for providing behavioral health services, including but not limited to assessment, treatment planning, therapy/counseling, community support and case management, including crisis intervention when needed. Services are focused on promoting wellness, recovery and independence in the home, community or office setting. This role will involve interaction with the person’s support network, including but not limited to family members, guardians, natural supports, and medical providers.

Education/Experience Requirements

• Must have a master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling, family therapy or another related human service field
• Clinical License (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, etc) required
• Successfully completed 1,000 hours of practicum and/or internship under clinical and educational supervision
• At least one year of documented clinical experience under the supervision of a QMHP
• At least one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
• Knowledge of Medicaid preferred
• Possess a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and safe driving record
• Must pass a background check
• IM+CANS certification preferred or complete certification within first 30 days

Department/Program Development and Coordination (Delivery of Quality Service)

• As a mandated reporter, ensure all allegations of abuse and neglect are reported as required
• Ensure compliance with all HIPAA and confidentiality requirementsComplete all required documentation accurately, honestly, and on time
• Verify and ensure your payroll timecard is accurate by Monday before noon for the previous week worked
• Complete all required training within 120 days of initial employment and stay in compliance with all required annual training refreshers.
• Assist with growth of the program and increase access to care via the ability to provide clinical services to more complex caseloads and behavioral health needs
• Complete IM+CANS assessments and develop person-centered treatment plans
• Review and modify treatment plans as necessary to assist individuals in achieving goals
• Provide individual/group counseling, community support and case management guided by treatment plan
• Assist individuals in adapting to and coping with difficulties related to their living environment
• Recognize warning signs associated with suicide and provide crisis intervention when needed
• Meet or exceed direct service expectations, with most of the day’s work being direct contact with individuals
• Collaborate with other program staff to ensure individual’s needs are met
• Attend conferences, seminars, and in-service training as requested or approved
• Provide training to colleagues and other program staff as needed
• Provide mentoring and/or supervision to program interns as requested
