PURPOSE
The Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) supports patients in improving their overall functioning and well‑being through case consultation, case management, evidence‑based brief interventions, and psychotherapy. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the LMSW uses a patient‑centered approach to address the biopsychosocial needs of individuals facing medical and behavioral health conditions such as chronic illness, chronic pain, adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. The role requires strong clinical judgment, clear communication, and the ability to create individualized care plans that foster resilience and continuity of care.

Employment Eligibility:
Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University‑Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers. Retirement Plan Eligibility:
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
