Job summary

United States Seafoods LLC is seeking a Licensed Master or Mate to work on one of our factory trawlers operating out of Alaska. The role requires a USCG license for 1600 tons or greater and a minimum of three years of bottom trawl fishing experience as master or mate.

The crew operates on a roughly 60 days on / 60 days off rotation during January to November. The candidate will be proficient with modern navigational and fish-detecting equipment, and skilled in rigging and repairing bottom

Qualifications

• Experience on fishing vessels required or preferred for trawlers.
• Must hold a USCG license for 1600 tons or greater.

Responsibilities

• Manage bag size, tow times and deliveries to ensure a high-quality product.
• Actively ensure company quality standards are met.
• Communicate daily with USS office and department heads on production, quality, and safety.
• Hold daily meetings to assure proper vessel management including production, quality, and safety.
• Operate the vessel safely and in compliance with laws; report issues as needed.
• Complete daily safety walks and drills; submit safety reports and conduct pre-trip briefings.
• Oversee inventory and ordering for wheelhouse and deck; maintain gear and equipment.
