Job Description

Life Stage Massage is an established therapeutic massage practice serving Hoboken for more than 20 years, with a loyal client base and strong, growing demand. Following our move into a larger, beautifully designed street-level space earlier this year, we are continuing to expand our team and are seeking multiple Licensed Massage Therapists.

We have an immediate need for therapists available on Saturdays and/or Sundays, when demand is especially strong and our schedules frequently reach capacity. Weekend-only applicants are very welcome, and flexible scheduling options are available. We are also happy to consider exceptional candidates seeking weekday hours.

We are looking for experienced, thoughtful therapists who value clinical reasoning, individualized care, professionalism, and continued growth in their work.

About Life Stage Massage

For more than two decades, Life Stage Massage has focused on highly individualized, therapeutic, client-centered care. We don't approach massage as a standardized service: therapists use verbal intake, palpation, visual assessment, and clinical reasoning to understand each client's needs and determine the most effective approach for that session.

Our expanded street-level location offers larger treatment rooms and a calm, refined environment that combines serious therapeutic work with the level of comfort and care our clients value. We also structure our schedules with 20-minute recovery time between sessions because we believe excellent client care depends on supporting the therapists who provide it.

Our Ideal Therapist

• Has at least 2 years of professional massage therapy experience
• Has strong critical-thinking and clinical-reasoning skills
• Can assess a client's needs through verbal intake, palpation, and visual assessment and use those findings to guide treatment
• Has a strong working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology
• Adapts each session to the client's goals, preferences, and presentation rather than relying on a standardized routine
• Communicates clearly and professionally with clients
• Can make thoughtful recommendations for ongoing care when appropriate
• Actively seeks opportunities to learn and refine their work
• Is open and responsive to feedback

Experience or certification in prenatal and postpartum massage is a plus, but not required. All Life Stage therapists receive training in our approach to prenatal massage, and additional in-house training may be provided based on experience and fit.
