Summary:

The Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) will provide injury prevention and recovery services for fighter aircrew. The Contractor shall evaluate and provide massage therapy to fighter aircrew personnel as part of an injury prevention and post-exertion recovery program. Healthy lifestyle education related to services provided will be addressed as part of an overall health maintenance program to enhance injury resistance, soft tissue recovery, and improve overall quality of life for fighter aircrew.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

1. Complete all in-processing requirements and participate in job-specific training activities, including simulations and hands-on training.
2. Provide initial evaluations and ongoing massage therapy for all assigned fighter aircrew, with follow-up appointments based on need, injury prevention plans, and coordination with the military and healthcare team at the request of the aircrew and unit commander.
3. Develop individualized programs (IPs) for each member to increase neck and back conditioning, minimize injury risk, and address cumulative impacts of strain during flying operations.
4. Optimize scheduling to maximize benefits, determine the best times for therapy visits, and ensure maximum coverage focusing on neck and back soft tissue dysfunction and tactical athlete recovery.
5. Advise unit commanders on injury prevention and identify opportunities for improvement.
6. Coordinate with the site Government POC regarding administrative matters, purchasing supplies and equipment, and fiscal requests related to interventions and services.
7. Conduct reviews of equipment, products, and literature to ensure continuous improvement of the OHWS program.
8. Document assessments, encounters, and contacts with Aircrew within 72 hours, and support other government entities as required, with written approval.
9. Attend weekly staff meetings with squadron command to review performance programming and improvement opportunities.
10. Prepare and submit data for the Human Performance Measures of Effectiveness Report (HP-MER).

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Proficiency in anatomy and physiology.
• Knowledge of ethics and business practices for massage therapists.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with great attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy certification program.
• Minimum 2+ years of full-time experience as a Massage Therapist in a medical, collegiate, professional, or tactical environment, including aerospace or high-performance settings.
• Current and unrestricted license or certification from the US jurisdiction where services are provided, or for OCONUS locations, from any US state or territory.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Favorable Tier 3 (T3) security investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Any advanced related certifications.
