Job summary

McAllister Towing is seeking a Licensed Engineer for their Virginia operations. The role requires an experienced skilled crewmember responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the vessel's machinery as well as compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Merchant Mariner’s Credential, Engineering License, and pass a drug test. Physical capabilities are also necessary, including lifting and operating machinery. The position is a full-time commitment located in Norfolk, Virginia.

Qualifications

• Experienced skilled crewmember on the vessel's Engineering Department.
• Responsible for operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Must maintain compliance with safety and environmental management systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of the vessel's machinery plant.
• Repair all machinery and equipment onboard within capacity.
• Supervise procurement and transfer of potable and ballast water.

Valid Merchant Mariner’s Credential

Valid TWIC Card

Valid Engineering License

Ability to pass pre-employment drug test

Ability to pass pre-employment physical

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent
