Job summary

A-Line Staffing Solutions seeks a Licensed LTC Pharmacist for a 2nd-shift role in Hanover, PA. You will oversee dispensing, safety, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate records and compliant operations.

Responsibilities include verifying prescriptions, counseling patients, supervising technicians, and maintaining inventory while following state and federal regulations. PA license and LTC experience preferred; shift includes every 3rd weekend.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist license in Pennsylvania.
• Strong knowledge of medication safety and dispensing procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to supervise pharmacy staff.
• LTC pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications in accordance with applicable laws and pharmacy standards.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify potential medication-related concerns or overuse patterns.
• Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patients.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
• Counsel patients regarding medications, including proper administration, dosage, storage, potential reactions, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Provide consultation regarding prescription and over-the-counter medications.
• Educate patients on the proper handling and use of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Provide patient services such as smoking cessation education, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management, as applicable.
• Compound medications for internal and external use.
• Prepare sterile solutions while following appropriate procedures and safety standards.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, pharmacy clerks, and other pharmacy support staff.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of medications and medical supplies.
• Identify drug-related problems and communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Follow all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
