Base pay range

$78,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr

Position Summary: We are seeking a Professional Land Surveyor to lead and manage survey operations across multiple projects. This role oversees field crews and technicians conducting precise land measurements for construction, mapping, utility location, land division, and related services. The ideal candidate will ensure safety compliance, maintain high-quality deliverables, and represent the company in client engagements. Please note, this position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization, except under the TN visa classification.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple field survey crews
• Ensure quality assurance and control on all survey deliverables
• Monitor project budgets, timelines, and client billing
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
• Contribute to business development initiatives in the survey discipline
• Provide leadership and performance management for team members (goal setting, coaching, feedback)
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 12 years of professional surveying experience
• Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) in the state of Virginia
• Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and local surveying regulations
• Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
• Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  
  

Preferred Experience

• Experience with subsurface utility engineering (SUE)
• Familiarity with VDOT standards and Hampton Roads municipalities
• Exposure to aerial mapping, LiDAR scanning, and sUAS (drone) technology
  
  

Work Environment

• Primarily office-based (95%), with occasional field visits
• Field conditions may include heat, cold, wet, or dry environments
• Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs may be require
