Base pay range

$75,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and licensed Land Surveyor Manager to join our team in New Bern, NC. This leadership role involves directing the work of surveyors and technicians on a variety of projects related to construction, mapping, utility locations, land divisions, and more. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, deep industry knowledge, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead survey crews and manage multiple field operations
• Assemble field data and perform survey calculations
• Prepare legal descriptions and review survey drawings
• Provide QA/QC across all survey deliverables
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and client expectations
• Develop and maintain client relationships
• Represent the company in client meetings and conferences
• Mentor and coach surveying staff to support professional growth
• Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations
• Support business development for surveying services
  
  

Must-Have Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s preferred)
• 10+ years of professional surveying experience
• Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) license in North Carolina (or eligible)
• Proficiency with Inroads, MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local surveying regulations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  
  

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE)
• Familiarity with LiDAR scanning, aerial mapping, and sUAS
• Business development and client management experience
  
  

Working Conditions

• 95% office-based, occasional field work required
• May involve exposure to outdoor elements and light lifting (up to 35 lbs)
• Occasional travel (approx. 20%)
