Darigold, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Journeyman Electrician to join the Caldwell Plant Maintenance team. You will install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and controls in a food manufacturing setting.

The role emphasizes adherence to NEC/OSHA standards, documentation, safety, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure reliable plant operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain site-wide production, processing, packaging, utility, and facility equipment, including electrical, mechanical, controls, instrumentation, and pneumatic systems.
• Safely troubleshoot and maintain 24V–480V AC/DC, single- and three-phase electrical systems, including power distribution, MCCs, motors, motor controls, VFDs, panels, and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and control-system issues involving PLCs, HMIs, I/O, input/output modules, field devices, control circuits, VFDs, servos, instrumentation, sensors, and industrial control networks.
• Set-up, configure, parameters, commission, and troubleshoot VFDs and associated motor-control systems.
• Troubleshoot and maintain basic process instrumentation and field devices, including level and pressure transmitters, RTDs, temperature, flow, pressure, level, and other common industrial sensors.
• Install and modify electrical systems and equipment, including conduit, wiring, panels, controls, motors, instrumentation, and associated components, in accordance with applicable electrical codes and plant standards.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce recurring failures, and minimize downtime.
• Work as part of a multi-skilled Maintenance team, supporting equipment breakdowns, repairs, PMs, installations, commissioning, and plant projects while collaborating with I&C, Engineering, Production, IT/OT, and contractors as required.

Description

Darigold is seeking a Licensed Journeyman Electrician, to join our Caldwell Plant Maintenance team. The successful candidate will have demonstrated industrial electrical experience and be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, machinery, equipment, and controls in a food manufacturing environment.

The Plant Journeyman Electrician will work in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), applicable state and local requirements, OSHA standards, manufacturer specifications, electrical schematics, blueprints, and established plant procedures. This role will serve as a key electrical resource for the maintenance team and will support the safe, reliable operation and continuous improvement of plant equipment and electrical systems.

Schedule:

Thursday- Saturday and every other Wednesday from 5:00pm-5:30am

Sunday- Tuesday and every other Wednesday from 5:00pm-5:30am

What You Will Do

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain site-wide production, processing, packaging, utility, and facility equipment, including electrical, mechanical, controls, instrumentation, and pneumatic systems.
• Safely troubleshoot and maintain 24V–480V AC/DC, single- and three-phase electrical systems, including power distribution, MCCs, motors, motor controls, VFDs, panels, and associated equipment.

• Install and modify electrical systems and equipment, including conduit, wiring, panels, controls, motors, instrumentation, and associated components, in accordance with applicable electrical codes and plant standards. Maintain accurate electrical drawings and documentation following modifications.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce recurring failures, and minimize downtime.
• Work as part of a multi-skilled Maintenance team, supporting equipment breakdowns, repairs, PMs, installations, commissioning, and plant projects while collaborating with I&C, Engineering, Production, IT/OT, and contractors as required.
• Follow all plant and electrical safety requirements, including LOTO, arc-flash, NFPA 70E, electrical PPE, and applicable electrical codes. Accurately document work performed, parts used, findings, and required follow-up in the CMMS/EAM, and maintain all required electrical licensing and continuing education.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Licensing, Compliance & Safety

• Maintain an active Idaho Journeyman Electrician license in good standing and provide license information for verification.
• Maintain the license in accordance with Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (DOPL) requirements.
• Support the Maintenance Manager in maintaining the plant's electrical permitting requirements and, when applicable, establishing the facility as a training site for electrical apprentices.
• Maintain working knowledge of applicable NEC requirements, Idaho electrical requirements, OSHA standards, local building codes, and industry safety requirements.
• Follow all plant safety, food safety, sanitation, and environmental procedures.
• Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safely perform work involving confined spaces, chemicals, fall protection, energized electrical systems, and other applicable hazards.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established safe work practices at all times.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Accurately document maintenance activities, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, calibrations, and other work performed.
• Enter work orders, labor hours, and other required information into the plant CMMS/EAM system.
• Follow established procedures for obtaining and returning parts and materials through the maintenance storeroom.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, efficiency, and maintenance processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support the implementation of sustainable solutions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary, and safe work area.

Team Support

• Work collaboratively with maintenance, production, quality, sanitation, IT/OT, and other plant personnel to resolve equipment and operational issues.
• Provide support to maintenance mechanics and other maintenance team members when needed.
• Respond effectively to urgent equipment and electrical issues to minimize production downtime.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Active Idaho Journeyman Electrician license in good standing — required.
• Minimum of four years of industrial electrical experience.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, control drawings, and technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and applicable state and local electrical and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and respond effectively to urgent repairs.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a food and beverage manufacturing environment.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, industrial networks, and process instrumentation.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Experience supporting or mentoring electrical apprentices.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Ability to work in a wet and humid food manufacturing environment with moderate noise.
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crawl, reach, bend, climb, and occasionally sit throughout the work shift.
• Ability to work safely from ladders, elevated platforms, and in confined or restricted-access areas when required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and assist others with heavier items when necessary.
• Ability to wear required PPE and work safely around machinery, chemicals, electrical equipment, and other industrial hazards.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Education & Licensing

• Active Idaho Journeyman Electrician License — Required.
• Completion of the education and experience requirements applicable to Idaho Journeyman Electrician licensure, including either: Completion of an approved four-year electrical apprenticeship/instruction program and 8,000 hours of qualifying electrical experience; or 16,000 hours of qualifying electrical experience, as permitted under Idaho requirements.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
