As a Licensed Journeyman Electrician supporting the City of New Haven, you'll assist electrical contractors throughout New Haven, CT. Note: The hourly rate for this position is $45. This range is an estimate based on skills, experience, education, training, location, and other factors. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis unless otherwise specified.

Responsibilities

• Work hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30 am, 40-hour weeks
• Ground-up construction of a multiphase apartment building
• Currently in the roughing stage, pulling wires

Qualifications

• Must be a City of New Haven licensed Journeyman Electrician
• Current/Active Connecticut Journeyman License
• OSHA certification within the last 5 years or willingness to obtain it
• Perform tests to diagnose issues, e.g., using a multimeter to check voltage, amperage, or resistance
• References verifying professional skills and experience
• Ability to measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using appropriate tools
• Perform labor duties related to electrical system installation, maintenance, and repair
• Follow state and local electrical codes and regulations
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation
• Experience in the commercial electrical field
• Experience using standard hand tools such as cutters, volt meters, and cordless screwdrivers
