Job summary

Fortuity seeking an Licensed Insurance Agent to enroll and sell life, health, and property & casualty insurance. You will provide follow-up service, quotes, and coverage recommendations while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Based in Columbus, OH, the role is full-time and non-exempt with pay of $25-30/hr plus performance incentives. The team offers a collaborative environment and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• State licensure in Life and Health Insurance and/or Property and Casualty Insurance required; dual licensure preferred.
• Customer service experience required.
• Some sales experience, particularly in insurance.

Summary:

Licensed Insurance Agent will assist in the enrollment and sales of life, health, property and casualty insurance to clients. Agents will provide additional follow-up service and support as needed according to changing insurance needs.

Pay: $25-30/hr with performance based incentive opportunities

Location: 775 West Broad, Columbus (Free parking + on a major COTA bus route)

Assignment: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Responsibilities:

• Interact with customers via telephone, email, online chat, or in person to provide support and information on products or services


• Document all customer interactions in designated systems accurate


• Consult clients and prospective clients to assess insurance needs, budget, financial planning goals, and other relevant details


• Safeguarding non-public personal information (NPI) and always maintaining strict confidentiality


• Provides rate quotes and coverage recommendations; assists with long-term planning.


• Collect and enter orders for new or additional products or services


• Assist with completion of application and other necessary paperwork; obtain underwriting approval when needed


• Deliver policy and plan documents


• Field customer questions and complaints; when the issue is beyond the representative’s knowledge, escalated to the assigned specialist or other appropriate staff


• Follow up with clients on a periodic basis to assess financial, family, and other changes that may warrant modification of coverage


• Facilitate distributions to beneficiaries as directed on the death of the policyholder.


• Comply with all insurance regulations, security protocols, and workplace policies


• Perform other related duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred


• State licensure in Life and Health Insurance and/or Property and Casualty Insurance required; dual licensure highly preferred


• Customer service experience required


• Some sales experience, particularly in insurance

Knowledge/Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including active listening


• Service-oriented and able to resolve customer concerns


• Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software and operate multiple screens


• Thorough understanding of life insurance as an aspect of financial planning.


• Ability to clearly explain complex insurance policies and packages.


• Excellent emotional intelligence when discussing sensitive topics

Additional Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.


• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times


• Flexibility to work adjusted shifts, as necessary.


• Accept coaching and performance feedback to improve customer experience and operational performance


• Maintain a professional, respectful, and customer-focused demeanor in all interactions
