Job summary

EMS is seeking an HVAC Technician in Baltimore, MD to perform installation, repair, and maintenance across residential and commercial properties. You will respond to service calls, upgrade systems for energy efficiency, and ensure tenant comfort in a code-compliant, safe manner.

The role requires at least 3 years of HVAC experience, Maryland HVAC license (Journeyman or Master), EPA 608 certification, and the ability to operate independently in occupied spaces.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience servicing residential and/or commercial HVAC systems.
  • Experience with ductless mini-split systems, smart thermostats, and energy-efficient upgrades.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism in occupied units or public spaces.
  • Must carry or be willing to obtain general liability insurance (if 1099).

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and ventilation units
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to airflow, thermostats, refrigerant, mechanical components, and electrical systems
  • Perform seasonal tune-ups and preventative maintenance to maximize system performance
  • Respond to emergency repair requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure all work complies with local, state, and manufacturer guidelines
  • Maintain accurate service logs, material usage, and repair documentation
  • Collaborate with property managers, maintenance teams, and other contractors as needed
