Job summary

Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. in Clearfield, PA seeks a Licensed Funeral Professional to guide families through funeral, burial, and cremation arrangements with compassion and professionalism.

You will meet with families, coordinate visitations and services, oversee preparation of decedents, manage documentation, and collaborate with cemeteries, clergy, and other service providers. This on-site, full-time role may include evenings, weekends, or on-call hours.

Qualifications

• Current state funeral director and/or embalmer license in good standing, or eligibility to obtain required licensing in Pennsylvania.
• Ability to provide compassionate, professional support to grieving families and handle sensitive situations with discretion.
• Knowledge of funeral service practices, cremation procedures, embalming standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple services, documentation requirements, and schedules.
• Clear, respectful communication with families, colleagues, clergy, cemeteries, and other service providers.
• Ability to work on-site, including occasional evening, weekend, or on-call hours as needed to support families and services.
• Comfort with basic computer use for records, scheduling, and documentation; familiarity with funeral home management systems is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record to transport remains, equipment, and materials as required.
• Prior funeral home or mortuary experience is beneficial, as is formal education in mortuary science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Guide families through funeral, burial, and cremation arrangements in a compassionate and professional manner.
• Meet with families to discuss service options and preferences.
• Coordinate and direct visitations and funeral services; oversee preparation and care of decedents.
• Complete and manage required documentation, permits, and records.
• Communicate with cemeteries, clergy, and other service providers.
• Assist with crematory operations and maintain facilities.
• Support families before, during, and after services.
• Work on-site full-time with flexibility for evenings and weekends as needed.
