This role requires graduation from an accredited mortuary science program, an active Funeral Director license in the state, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science.
• Current Funeral Director license within the practicing state.
• Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives or initiates calls to next of kin; gathers contact details and schedules arrangements.
• May perform removals or transfers; handles deceased respectfully and updates status.
• Greets families and facilitates Arrangements Conferences; promotes services and products.
• Directs Service Arrangements; presides as MC for visitation, funeral, or graveside services; ensures contracts.
• Performs Event Planning tasks; coordinates music, catering, flowers, memorial items, and logistics.
• Works under general guidance; ensures regulatory compliance and professional standards.
