Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Inspector to perform routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on fire sprinkler systems. This role involves working with low‑voltage wiring, documenting activities, and following a structured inspection schedule on site at customer facilities.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of sprinkler experience, a valid OKDOL Sprinkler License, and the ability to work in varied positions and hours.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of documented experience in sprinkler systems.
  • OKDOL Sprinkler License required.
  • Experience with wet, dry, pre‑action, deluge, fire pumps, and foam systems.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, program schematics, and manuals.
  • Capable of carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50–70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual positions (ladders, scaffolding, high‑lift equipment).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on‑call rotation, nights, and weekends.
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections, testing, servicing and preventative maintenance of fire sprinkler and life safety product lines.
  • Work with low‑voltage wiring and associated devices for operation of low‑voltage equipment.
  • Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding via laptops, smartphones or paper.
  • Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.
  • Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents via mobile devices.
  • Make minor repairs and programming changes to inspected systems.
  • Assist foreman in installing wet, dry, pre‑action, deluge sprinkler systems.
  • Perform work in difficult positions, including ladders, scaffolding, and high‑lift equipment.
  • Work flexible hours, including on‑call, nights, and weekends.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.

Job Summary: Inspectors are responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Fire Sprinkler Systems and similar competitive manufacturer product lines. They work with low‑voltage wiring and associated devices, complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding, maintain a structured inspection schedule, manage inspection documents, and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections, testing, servicing, installing and preventative maintenance of fire sprinkler and life safety product lines.
  • Work with low‑voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low‑voltage equipment.
  • Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices such as laptop computers, smartphones, and hard copy.
  • Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.
  • Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents via mobile device.
  • Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected.
  • Carry or move equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs, performing physical labor as required.
  • Assist foreman in the installation of wet, dry, pre‑action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
  • Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high‑lift equipment.
  • Work flexible hours, including on‑call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer requirements.
  • Adhere to and implement safety guidelines and procedures at all times.

  • Experience with hand tools and multimeter usage.
  • Capable of carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50–70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual positions (climbing ladders, scaffolding, high‑lift equipment up to 40 ft, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on‑call rotation, nights, and weekends.
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly range: $25.00 – $36.00 (rate determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and market data).
