Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fully Licensed Fire Inspector to independently perform inspection, testing, and basic troubleshooting of fire alarms, sprinklers, and fire suppression systems. This role requires travel to job sites and precise documentation of results.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in fire and life safety, NFPA knowledge (NFPA 72), and holds PPRBD licenses in Fire Alarm, Fire Sprinkler, Backflow, Hydrant, Extinguisher, and Kitchen Suppression; NICET Level 2+ is highly

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety as a technician.
• Licenses: Fire Alarm, Fire Sprinkler, Backflow, Fire Hydrant, Fire Extinguisher, Kitchen Suppression.
• NFPA knowledge and experience with NFPA 72.
• NICET Level 2+ preferred; able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform inspection, testing, and basic troubleshooting of fire alarms, sprinklers, and suppression systems.
• Conduct device activations, system checks, and alarm verification.
• Document inspection and testing results accurately.
• Identify deficiencies and perform minor repairs.
• Communicate findings to customers and internal teams.
• Interpret drawings and technical documents; maintain tools and inventory.
• Travel to job sites; adhere to safety policies.
