State of Wisconsin, Department of Financial Institutions, seeks a Licensed Financial Services Director - Career Executive (Administrative Manager) to lead the nonbanking division of Banking, focusing on consumer credit and related financial services.

The role requires strong leadership, regulatory expertise, and strategic oversight of licensing, examinations, and enforcement with potential hybrid work and a Madison-based headquarters.

Qualifications

• Formal supervisory experience and/or experience supervising remote teams (recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, performance assessment)
• Analyzing financial statements and reports to identify trends or evaluate financial stability
• Researching, interpreting and applying state/federal laws, rules and regulations related to financial services and examinations
• Performing auditing procedures or examination/analysis of records
• Experience in one or more financial services industries (mortgage banking, money transmitters, collections, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal advisor to the Deputy Administrator and Administrator of Banking, setting policies and direction for the bureau
• Coordinate training and development of staff, monitor performance and oversee licensing, examinations, and complaint processes
• Lead enforcement action processes and demonstrate strong leadership and team-building abilities
• Oversee compliance with the Wisconsin Consumer Act and act as an expert for examiners and supervisors
