Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health in Short Pump, VA seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician for ER, offering $35/hr plus a $3,000 sign-on bonus. Part-time weekends only (Sat/Sun 10am-10pm). Duties include high-quality nursing care, med administration, catheter management, and discharge planning for hospitalized patients.

Strong emergency/critical care experience and CVT/RVT/LVT credentials are preferred. Onsite wellbeing support and a dynamic, fast-paced team environment are highlights of this role.

Qualifications

• Certified veterinary technician (CVT/RVT/LVT) required or eligible.
• Emergency or critical care experience preferred.
• Strong technical and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced veterinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and monitoring for hospitalized patients.
• Administer treatments including meds, IV fluids, nutrition, wound care.
• Place and manage catheters and urinary catheters.
• Assist with IV catheters, nasogastric tubes, drains and feeding tubes.
• Document and administer controlled substances per protocol.
• Follow OSHA protocols and attend required trainings.
• Collaborate with specialty services to carry out care plans.
• Prepare patients for discharge with home care instructions.
