Job summary

US Indian Health Service (IHS) Sanitation Facilities Construction is seeking a qualified civil/environmental engineer to plan, design, and oversee drinking water, wastewater, and solid waste facilities. Responsibilities include providing expert technical support for complex water and sewer issues and ensuring compliance with relevant environmental laws.

The role requires an engineering degree (ABET-accredited preferred) and professional licensure (PE).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; ABET accreditation preferred.
• Professional registration/licensure (PE) required/strongly preferred.
• Experience or knowledge in civil/environmental health engineering and water/sewer systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical assistance on complex water and sewer system issues.
• Assist utility organizations with maintaining compliance with Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act.
• Investigate malfunctioning water/sewer components and estimate costs and needed resources.
