Job summary

Skylawn Funeral Home in Half Moon Bay, CA is seeking a Licensed Embalmer to provide skilled care for the deceased, including embalming, removals, cosmetics, dressing, and preparation with the highest level of professionalism.

You will join a compassionate team, adhere to OSHA standards and regulatory guidelines, and support families during difficult moments while mentoring staff as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of funeral industry experience.
• Current embalmer's license from the state of California.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Team player mindset.
• Comfortable using various computer applications and equipment.
• Experience handling sensitive situations professionally.
• Understanding of available services and products.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local funeral industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform embalming, disinfection, dressing, preparing, and casketing of the deceased using OSHA standards.
• Communicate to the funeral team, in a timely and effective manner, all pertinent information regarding decedent condition.
• Complete and enforce all login, identification, and casketing procedures.
• Maintain a sterile and safe work environment consistent with company, government and industry rules, regulations, and practices.
• Always maintain reverence and respect for the deceased.
• Train staff on company procedures and guidelines as needed.

Skylawn Funeral Home is looking for a Licensed Embalmer to join our team in Half Moon Bay, CA where we offer a passionate and purpose-filled work environment. The Embalmer is responsible for providing skilled and dignified care for the deceased, including, embalming, removals and transfers, cosmetology, dressing, hairstyling, and any other preparation required, ensuring each individual is prepared with the highest level of professionalism, respect, and attention to detail. This role combines technical expertise, restorative artistry, and compassionate service to help create meaningful final memories for the families we serve.

Responsibilities

• Perform embalming, disinfecting, dressing, preparing, and casketing of the deceased using appropriate precautions and OSHA standards
• Communicate to the funeral team, in a timely and effective manner, all pertinent information regarding decedent condition
• Complete and enforce all log-in, identification, and casketing procedures
• Maintain a sterile and safe work environment consistent with company, government and industry rules, regulations, and practices
• Always maintain reverence and respect for the deceased
• Train staff on company procedures and guidelines as needed

Compensation

$36 - $40/hr. based on experience, qualifications, and licensure.
