Job summary

Skylawn Funeral Home in Half Moon Bay, CA seeks a Licensed Embalmer to join our caring team. The Embalmer provides skilled care including embalming, removals, cosmetology, dressing, hairstyling, and preparation with dignity and professionalism.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe work environment, communicating with the funeral team, completing identification procedures, and training staff as needed. Compensation is $36–$40 per hour, with sign-on and relocation incentives.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of funeral industry experience.
• Active Embalmers license from the state of California.
• Maintaining a team player mindset.
• Comfortable using various computer applications and equipment.
• Experience handling sensitive situations in a professional manner.
• Understanding of the services and products available.
• Knowledge of current federal, state and local regulations related to the funeral industry.

• Perform embalming, disinfecting, dressing, preparing, and casketing of the deceased using appropriate precautions and OSHA standards
• Communicate to the funeral team, in a timely and effective manner, all pertinent information regarding decedent condition
• Complete and enforce all log-in, identification, and casketing procedures
• Maintain a sterile and safe work environment consistent with company, government and industry rules, regulations, and practices
• Always maintain reverence and respect for the deceased
• Train staff on company procedures and guidelines as needed

Skylawn Funeral Home is looking for a Licensed Embalmer to join our team in Half Moon Bay, CA where we offer a passionate and purpose-filled work environment. The Embalmer is responsible for providing skilled and dignified care for the deceased, including, embalming, removals and transfers, cosmetology, dressing, hairstyling, and any other preparation required, ensuring each individual is prepared with the highest level of professionalism, respect, and attention to detail. This role combines technical expertise, restorative artistry, and compassionate service to help create meaningful final memories for the families we serve.
