Job summary

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
  • Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at state and federal levels.
  • Demonstrate mechanical knowledge.
  • Program VFDs and troubleshoot PLCs.
  • Perform work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical systems.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Complete necessary forms (e.g., time sheets, work order request forms).
  • Work overtime when required, including weekends and/or holidays.
  • Attend emergency calls outside of normal working hours if available.
  • Comply with EHS policies and ensure all documents meet GMP practices.
  • Provide cover for other staff during absences and emergencies.
  • Maintain positive relations and demonstrate good customer care.
  • Execute preventive maintenance and general repair work on assigned mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Perform inspections, testing, and emptying of secondary containment systems.
  • Correct deficiencies found in inspections and report spills immediately.
  • Monitor operational parameters to ensure compliance and report deviations.
  • Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills:

  • Technical College Electrician Degree.
  • Licensed Electrician awarded by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico with 3 to 5 years of experience.

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:

  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to operate equipment and tools; frequently required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • May work in various weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, and be exposed to fumes and electrical shock risks.
