Job summary

John Knox Village is seeking an experienced Licensed Electrician / Journeyman Electrician to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electrical systems in our facilities. You will read blueprints, diagnose faults, and ensure compliance with NEC and safety standards.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, emergency power systems, and coordination with contractors. A minimum of 5 years' experience and a valid Journeyman Electrician license are required; OSHA certification is

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible electrical experience.
• State Electrical License where applicable.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and components, including wiring, conduit, panels, transformers, motors, generators, lighting systems, and controls.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Diagnose electrical malfunctions using testing equipment, meters, and diagnostic tools.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Install and maintain emergency power systems, backup generators, transfer switches, and related equipment.
• Ensure electrical work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), applicable state regulations, and company safety standards.
• Inspect completed work to verify quality, safety, and code compliance.
• Respond to emergency electrical service calls and outages as needed.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other maintenance personnel on construction and renovation projects.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, work orders, and maintenance activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and the operational reliability of electrical systems.
• Follow established safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Assist with developing project estimates, material lists, and labor requirements.
