Job summary

Burns Engineering, Inc. is seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer to join our Power & Utilities team in Austin, TX or Philadelphia, PA.

The engineer will perform technical tasks, studies, and designs on assigned projects, mentored by senior staff, with growing autonomy and responsibility for moderate complexity work. Professionals with 5–8 years of experience and a PE license will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable infrastructure solutions while maintaining Burns’

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5–8 years of related experience or equivalent.
• Licensed Professional Engineering (PE) license required at this level.
• Strong knowledge of engineering design software (AutoCAD, Revit) and applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform discipline-specific engineering for systems and designs of moderate complexity.
• Develop design approaches and concepts on projects with moderate complexity; consult with senior staff as needed.
• Assist in developing proposals and client presentations.
• Perform engineering studies and design analyses; assist in budgeting, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Review drawings, RFIs, and changes; communicate with suppliers, contractors, and client representatives.
• Conduct on-site surveys/inspections during design and construction; issue written reports.
